Prudential plc announced a share buyback executed on Aug, 28 2026, repurchasing 384,080 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange for a total consideration of about GBP 3.90 million.
The shares were bought at prices ranging between GBP 10.06 and GBP 10.22 each and are intended for cancellation. Following the transaction, Prudential’s issued share capital remained at 2,496,332,785 ordinary shares as of Aug, 28 2026, excluding the 1,137,138 shares already repurchased but pending cancellation over the three trading days to Aug, 28.
The purchases were conducted under a shareholder mandate granted on May, 14 2025, which authorises the company to buy back up to 262.67 million shares. To date, Prudential has repurchased 116.98 million shares under this mandate, representing about 4.49% of the company’s issued share capital at the time the authority was granted.
Under Hong Kong stock exchange rules, Prudential is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares until Sep, 27 2026, following the latest repurchase.
