BRETON (01333) saw its share price climb more than 9% during the final stretch of Thursday's trading session. At the time of writing, the stock was up 7.35% to HK$12.70, with turnover reaching HK$15.04 million.

The move comes after the company released its interim results, which showed first-half revenue of RMB 331 million, an increase of 1.19% year-on-year. The loss attributable to equity shareholders narrowed to RMB 81.65 million, a substantial reduction of 53.13% compared with the same period last year. According to the company's announcement, the revenue growth was primarily driven by a richer product mix, with an increased proportion of revenue coming from the optical storage components and electricity sales segments.

Management has outlined an ambitious roadmap to profitability. The company plans to reach a stage of scale profitability by 2027, setting a target of doubling profits each year thereafter. The chairman, Chen Fangming, recently stated that the goal is to achieve annual profits exceeding RMB 5 billion by 2031. As of the end of June, nearly 100 mining trucks equipped with autonomous driving systems have already been deployed in commercial operations. Under the current charging model, this segment is expected to generate approximately RMB 20 million in revenue annually.
