Hong Kong Stock Alert | Chaoju Eye Care Drops Over 7% After Interim Net Profit Declines 16.65%

Shares of Chaoju Eye Care (02219) fell more than 7% in Hong Kong trading, with the stock last down 7.28% at HK$2.355, on turnover of HK$4.907 million.

According to the company's interim results for fiscal 2026, total revenue reached RMB 711 million, up 1.78% year-on-year, while profit attributable to parent shareholders declined 16.65% to RMB 94.72 million.

Revenue from basic ophthalmology services dropped 4.1% to RMB 324 million, primarily due to tightened national medical insurance fee policies. In contrast, revenue from consumer ophthalmology services rose 3.7% to RMB 373 million, driven by an optimized surgical procedure mix that offers patients higher-end options. The company also gradually introduced SMILE-PRO equipment starting May 2025 to refine its service pricing structure, achieving both higher volumes and improved pricing.
