At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on September 3rd, Yang Xuedong, Director of the Sports Economy Department of the General Administration of Sport, announced that the number of national-level specialized and innovative "Little Giant" enterprises in the sports sector has reached 294.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the total scale and added value of China's sports industry maintained relatively fast growth. The potential of sports consumption has been continuously released, with retail sales of cultural, sports, and leisure services achieving double-digit growth. Meanwhile, the innovation capability of the sports manufacturing industry has been strengthened, and its transformation and upgrading have been accelerated, according to Yang.

Earlier, the General Office of the General Administration of Sport published the list of 294 national-level specialized and innovative "Little Giant" enterprises in the sports field. These enterprises cover regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the Yangtze River Delta, with business operations spanning the entire sports industry chain.

In 2025, the number of these national-level "Little Giant" enterprises in the sports sector increased from 146 in 2024 to 294. The selection regions have expanded to 19 provinces, with breakthroughs achieved in central and western provinces and cities. The proportion of emerging tracks has also risen, including fields such as sports plus digital technology, sports medicine, and low-altitude sports equipment.
