Energy Storage Leader Posts Stellar 780 Million Yuan Profit in Strong First-Half Turnaround

On the evening of August 26, Rept Battero Energy Co Ltd (00666.HK) unveiled its interim results for the first half of 2026, revealing a robust financial performance. The company reported total revenue of 14.916 billion yuan for the period, marking a substantial 57.2% year-on-year increase, while net profit soared to 778 million yuan, a figure that has already eclipsed its entire full-year profit for 2025.

Breaking down the business segments, the company sold a total of 42.7 GWh of lithium battery products in the first half of 2026, a 31.8% increase from the prior year. Within this, power battery shipments reached 15.5 GWh, up 14.8%, contributing to a revenue of 5.225 billion yuan, which grew by 29.8%. More notably, its energy storage battery segment saw shipments jump by 43.9% to 27.2 GWh, with corresponding revenue surging 81.5% to 9.225 billion yuan. From a revenue mix perspective, energy storage batteries accounted for 61.9% of total revenue, power batteries made up 35.0%, and other business activities contributed the remaining 3.1% with 465 million yuan in revenue. Clearly, the energy storage business has emerged as the primary engine driving the company's growth.

Margin expansion and robust cash flow were also key highlights of the report. Gross profit for the period reached 1.98 billion yuan, a substantial 138.8% increase year-on-year. The gross margin improved significantly to 13.3% from 8.7% in the same period last year, with the combined power and energy storage battery product margin rising from 8.5% to 13.1%. Demonstrating improved operational quality, net cash generated from operating activities surged by approximately 252.7% year-on-year to 3.46 billion yuan. The company's balance sheet also strengthened, with total assets increasing by 22.8% from the end of the previous year to 57.052 billion yuan, and net assets growing by 10.1% to 13.059 billion yuan.

Founded on October 25, 2017, and headquartered in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, Rept Battero Energy Co Ltd is a core new energy subsidiary under Tsingshan Holding Group, a Fortune 500 company. Specializing in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of lithium-ion batteries, the company provides solutions for EV power and smart energy storage and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2023. According to leading industry research, the company ranked sixth globally in total energy storage battery shipments in the first half of 2026. However, it secured the number one global position in residential energy storage battery shipments and the second spot for commercial and industrial energy storage batteries. Domestically, it ranked sixth for both power battery installations in passenger vehicles and installations for new energy commercial vehicles.

Regarding capacity expansion, total designed capacity stood at 100 GWh at the end of the reporting period. In terms of ongoing projects, the company's Chongqing facility, designed for 30 GWh, reached its structural completion in July 2026. The initial phase of this project will deliver 12 GWh of storage and power battery capacity and is scheduled to commence production at the end of 2026. On the international front, in March 2026, the company signed an agreement with a European partner at a major Italian renewable energy exhibition to supply 8.3 GWh of energy storage systems, with deliveries concentrated between 2026 and 2027. Additionally, in May of this year, it officially started operations at an 8 GWh lithium battery and storage system manufacturing base in Indonesia. Looking ahead, the company plans to boost its total annual capacity from 90 GWh in 2025 to approximately 120 GWh by the end of 2026.
