Dianne Penn, the company's product management lead, noted that this particular step can account for half or more of token consumption in complex, lengthy tasks, making it one of the most common pain points highlighted in customer feedback.
In a parallel development, Anthropic now permits enterprise clients to retain their data on private cloud infrastructure while still undergoing the company's security reviews. This policy change marks a notable departure from its previous data retention requirements.
