On August 31st, spot gold extended its downward slide during trading, breaking through the $4,400 per ounce level and recording a decline of more than 1% in the process.
The precious metals segment on the A-share market, tracked by the同花顺 (Hithink Flush) platform, saw a significant drop of over 7%. In this downturn, 湖南白银 (Hunan Silver) hit its daily price limit, while 晓程科技 (Xiaocheng Technology) and 招金黄金 (Zhaojin Gold) each plunged by more than 9%. Additionally, 赤峰黄金 (Chifeng Gold) and 湖南黄金 (Hunan Gold) both fell over 8%.
Several gold-focused exchange-traded funds also suffered heavy losses, with notable funds such as 黄金股ETF永赢 (Yongying Gold ETF), 黄金股ETF国泰 (Guotai Gold ETF), 黄金股ETF华夏 (ChinaAMC Gold ETF), and 黄金股ETF华安 (Huaan Gold ETF) all dropping by roughly 6%.
