SIMCERE PHARMA Shares Surge in Morning Trading Following Research Agreement and Bullish Analyst Target

SIMCERE PHARMA (02096) saw its shares jump nearly 9% during the morning session. At the time of writing, the stock was up 8.22% to HK$10.66, with a trading turnover of HK$63.21 million.

Recently, Stanford University School of Medicine and SIMCERE PHARMA entered into a collaborative research agreement to develop innovative therapies for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Under the terms of the agreement, SIMCERE PHARMA will fund this exploratory research for a first-in-class molecule, with the right to license the product upon successful development, securing 100% global rights.

It is noteworthy that UBS's latest research report reiterated its "Buy" rating on SIMCERE PHARMA, with a target price of HK$16.30. Concurrently, Wall Street analysts have collectively assigned the company a consensus rating of "Strong Buy," with an average target price of HK$17.77. According to SIMCERE PHARMA's most recent quarterly results for the period ending December 31, 2025, the company achieved quarterly revenue of HK$4.15 billion and a net profit of HK$740.4 million. In comparison, for the same period the previous year, the company reported revenue of HK$3.52 billion and a net profit of HK$276.57 million.
