Japanese and South Korean stock markets started the trading day on a negative note, with the South Korean benchmark experiencing a significant decline.

The Nikkei 225 index opened the morning session at 65,668.51 points, reflecting a decrease of 1.11%. Meanwhile, the KOSPI composite index in South Korea commenced trading with a sharper drop of 2.6%, settling at 6,613.58 points.
