Kingboard Holdings' stock surged 5.13% during intraday trading on Thursday, continuing its upward momentum.
The sharp rise is attributed to persistent tightness in the global copper clad laminate (CCL) supply chain, with South Korea's March CCL import prices surging 74.5% year-over-year. Additionally, the company's subsidiary, Kingboard Laminates, issued its fourth price increase notice this year, raising board material prices by 10% and prepreg prices by 20%, bringing cumulative hikes to over 40% year-to-date.
Analyst sentiment also contributed to the bullish move, with Citibank raising Kingboard Holdings' target price from HKD 48 to HKD 65, reiterating a Buy rating and lifting earnings forecasts by 50-61%. The bank noted the current price-to-book ratio of 0.8x implies significant valuation upside potential.
