Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Climb Across the Board, One-Month Rate Surges 8.804 Basis Points to 2.78256%

On August 25, Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates continued their upward trajectory across all tenors. The one-month Hibor, which is closely tied to mortgage rates, climbed 8.804 basis points to reach 2.78256%.

Meanwhile, the three-month Hibor, a key gauge of bank funding costs, rose 4.030 basis points to settle at 2.98482%. The overnight rate experienced a more significant jump, surging 36.934 basis points to 3.12500%.

Further along the curve, the one-week rate advanced 33.536 basis points to 3.05994%, while the two-week rate gained 23.471 basis points to reach 2.92429%. The two-month Hibor also edged higher, increasing by 4.697 basis points to 2.89786%.

At the longer end of the spectrum, both the six-month and one-year rates held steady, remaining unchanged at 3.20000% and 3.50000%, respectively.
