USA Rare Earth Inc. (USAR) saw its stock surge 5.05% during pre-market trading on Friday. The significant upward movement followed the company's announcement of key leadership and operational developments.
The company appointed Chaitan Kansal as its new Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created position. This strategic hire comes as USA Rare Earth transitions from development to active commercialization, marked by the recent start of Phase 1a commercial magnet production at its Stillwater, Oklahoma facility and a strategic investment in Carester, a France-based rare earth separation company.
Kansal brings over 25 years of experience in critical minerals and specialty chemicals, having previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Ecobat and Chief Marketing Officer at Albemarle. CEO Barbara Humpton stated the appointment reflects the strategic importance of building world-class commercial capabilities to secure long-term partnerships and position the company as a leading rare earth supplier in the Western world.
