Strategy Inc., the enterprise software firm co-founded by Michael Saylor, has ended a two-and-a-half-month pause in its Bitcoin acquisition campaign, marking a return to its well-known treasury strategy. The move comes after a prolonged crypto downturn weighed heavily on its share price, eroded investor faith in its funding approach, and forced a comprehensive restructuring of its financial position.

According to a regulatory filing released on Monday, the company—recognized as the largest corporate holder of the digital asset—purchased approximately $369.7 million worth of Bitcoin during the week ending August 30. To support this transaction, Strategy Inc. generated $602.8 million through a common stock offering, while simultaneously repurchasing $151.8 million of its preferred shares.

This fresh purchase arrives amid a modest improvement in the climate surrounding its capital-raising model. Bitcoin's recent climb toward the $80,000 mark has provided a lift to the company's stock, narrowing the gap between its market capitalization and the value of its substantial crypto reserves, which currently stand at around $73 billion.

In parallel with these activities, the firm has been actively revamping its balance sheet. Last week, it established a distinct cash reserve separate from its primary holdings, a strategic move designed to grant management greater flexibility in addressing preferred-stock dividends, debt obligations, and other operational expenses. These two separate reserves are valued at $5.1 billion and $1.61 billion, respectively.

Despite these positive developments, the recovery is only partial. The company's shares remain significantly below the premium valuations they enjoyed earlier in the market cycle, a period when issuing equity provided a highly efficient and low-cost method for financing additional Bitcoin acquisitions. While the recent price rebound has enhanced this dynamic, it has not yet fully revived the powerful funding engine that drove its initial aggressive accumulation phase.

In pre-market trading on Monday, the company's common shares saw an uptick of roughly 2%. However, looking at a broader timeframe, the stock has experienced a decline of approximately 60% over the past twelve months.
