Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Limited (Simcere Pharma) has signed an exclusive promotion service agreement with Beijing-based PrimeGenX Therapeutics Co., Ltd. on 01 June 2026. The arrangement grants Simcere Pharma sole promotion rights for Pumecitinib Gel across all dermatology indications in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Pumecitinib Gel, positioned as the world’s first topical JAK inhibitor for atopic dermatitis (AD), is currently under National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) review following acceptance of its New Drug Application for adult and adolescent AD. Clinical data show the gel significantly improves lesions and symptoms in mild-to-moderate AD while maintaining a favourable safety profile and low systemic exposure. Its non-greasy formulation aims to enhance patient adherence.

The partners intend to broaden the drug’s indication range to paediatric AD (ages 2–11), prurigo nodularis and non-segmental vitiligo, further reinforcing Simcere’s autoimmune disease portfolio.

PrimeGenX specialises in locally delivered therapies for chronic inflammatory conditions and is advancing additional pipeline assets, including Pumecitinib Nasal Spray (allergic rhinitis), PG-033 Tablets (pruritus), PG-018 Tablets (autoimmune nephropathy) and PG-040 Eye Drops (glaucoma).
