Official statistics from the Chifeng Municipal Bureau of Statistics reveal that from January to July this year, the added value of industries above designated size in Chifeng City increased by 10.3% year-on-year. This robust performance highlights the city's ongoing industrial momentum.
Breaking down the three major industrial categories, the added value of the manufacturing sector above designated size saw a remarkable 18.2% increase during the same period. In contrast, the mining sector experienced a 4.3% decline, while the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water dipped by 1.9%. This data underscores manufacturing's pivotal role as the primary engine driving local industrial economic growth.
Among the 28 major industry categories tracked in Chifeng, 20 recorded year-on-year growth in added value, translating to a growth breadth of 71.4%. Notably, 12 of these industries achieved double-digit growth. Key sectors such as metallurgy and chemicals led the charge, with their added value climbing by 18.0% and 15.0%, respectively. Together, these two industries contributed a substantial 10.8 percentage points to the overall growth of Chifeng's industrial added value, effectively offsetting the negative impacts from the mining and utility sectors.
Additionally, the output of various industrial products remained stable or increased. For instance, production of ten major non-ferrous metals grew by 5.8%, and refined copper output rose by 10.9%, further cementing the positive trend in the region's industrial sector.
