Simcere Pharma repurchases 1.64 million shares; cumulative buy-backs rise to 24.13 million

Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Limited (Simcere Pharma, HKEX: 02096) filed a Next Day Disclosure Return on 19 May 2026, reporting further progress under its on-market share repurchase programme.

The company bought back 1.64 million ordinary shares on 19 May 2026, paying a total of HK$17.99 million at prices between HK$10.7713 and HK$11.03 per share.

Including this latest transaction, 24.13 million shares purchased since 12 January 2026 remain pending cancellation. This volume equals 0.97% of the issued share capital on the date the current mandate was granted (13 June 2025).

Simcere Pharma is authorised to repurchase up to 247.47 million shares under the existing mandate; 9.75% of that limit has now been utilised. A 30-day moratorium on new share issues or disposals of treasury shares runs through 18 June 2026, in accordance with Hong Kong listing rules.

The company’s issued share capital stood unchanged at 2.60 billion shares as of 19 May 2026, with no treasury shares on hand. All repurchased shares are designated for cancellation upon settlement.
