Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Mostly Lower; One-Month Rate Inches Up to 2.86399%

Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates displayed a broad decline on September 1st, though the one-month rate, which is closely tied to mortgage pricing, edged higher.

The one-month HIBOR climbed by 1.399 basis points to settle at 2.86399%. Meanwhile, the three-month rate, a key indicator of bank funding costs, advanced 0.715 basis points to 3.02679%.

In contrast, the overnight rate dropped sharply by 81.607 basis points to 3.28250%. The one-week rate fell 15.441 basis points to 3.07583%, and the two-week rate slipped 2.756 basis points to 2.89143%.

The two-month rate decreased by 0.071 basis points to 2.95000%. Among longer tenors, the six-month rate shed 1.352 basis points to 3.21327%, while the one-year rate declined by 0.143 basis points to 3.51327%.
