Century Legend narrows FY2025 net loss to HK$15.58 million as securities gains offset operating pressure; revenue slips 4%

Century Legend (Holdings) Limited released its audited results for the year ended 31 December 2025, reporting a markedly lower net loss despite softer topline performance.

Revenue and Profitability • Group revenue fell 3.7% year on year to HK$45.96 million, with declines across hair styling (–4%), hospitality (–1.7%) and securities investment income (–33%). • Gross profit eased 2.2% to HK$14.74 million. • A HK$19.46 million fair-value gain on listed equity investments—reversing a HK$2.09 million loss in 2024—helped trim the loss before tax to HK$15.81 million (2024: HK$32.39 million loss). • After an income-tax credit of HK$0.23 million, the group posted a net loss of HK$15.58 million, an improvement of 51.1% from the HK$31.85 million deficit a year earlier. Loss attributable to shareholders narrowed 54.5% to HK$14.15 million. • Earnings per share (basic and diluted) improved to a loss of HK4.34 cents from HK9.53 cents.

Key Cost and Valuation Movements • Finance costs declined 29.4% to HK$5.21 million, reflecting lower average borrowings and interest rates. • Impairment on right-of-use assets rose sharply to HK$11.81 million (2024: HK$0.85 million). • Investment properties recorded a HK$7.40 million fair-value loss (2024: HK$5.00 million loss).

Segment Snapshot (Revenue / Segment Result) • Hospitality services: HK$28.75 million revenue (–1.7%); HK$9.84 million loss (2024: HK$3.28 million loss). • Hair styling: HK$12.41 million revenue (–3.5%); HK$1.03 million loss (2024: HK$0.01 million profit). • Property investments: HK$2.93 million revenue (–7.7%); HK$12.87 million loss, narrowed from HK$14.78 million. • Securities investments: HK$1.79 million revenue; HK$21.24 million profit versus HK$0.59 million in 2024. • Money lending: HK$0.09 million revenue; HK$0.00 million profit. • Property project management recorded no revenue and a HK$0.01 million loss.

Financial Position • Total assets stood at HK$363.26 million (2024: HK$379.83 million); total liabilities were HK$158.19 million. • Net assets declined 7.1% to HK$205.07 million, equivalent to HK$0.63 per share. • Net current liabilities were HK$81.13 million; current ratio remained low at 0.45. • Bank borrowings totalled HK$116.27 million, secured against certain investment properties and fixed assets; non-current gearing (excluding deferred tax) was 5% of equity. • Cash and bank balances amounted to HK$5.37 million.

Investment Portfolio As at year-end, financial assets at fair value through profit or loss rose to HK$52.73 million (2024: HK$43.00 million). Key holdings included: – Link REIT: HK$20.88 million (5.7% of total assets), generating HK$1.79 million dividends and HK$1.14 million fair-value gain. – Palantir Technologies Inc.: HK$31.54 million (8.7% of total assets) with a HK$15.95 million fair-value gain during the year.

Cash Flow & Capital Management The group reported no significant capital commitments or contingent liabilities. No shares were purchased or redeemed, and no final dividend was proposed for FY2025.

Outlook Management anticipates continued global economic volatility amid geopolitical tensions and higher interest-rate uncertainty. Despite these headwinds, the group remains focused on cost control, service enhancement in its hospitality and hair-styling operations, and disciplined capital allocation within its securities portfolio and property investments.
