Shares of TCL Electronics (01070) extended their rally, rising more than 4% during Tuesday's trading session. As of the latest update, the stock was up 4.12% to HK$17.44 per share, with turnover reaching HK$156 million.
In the first half of the year, the company generated revenue of HK$63.763 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose 40.2% to HK$1.529 billion compared to the same period last year. The display business, its core segment, delivered particularly strong results with revenue surging 24.7% year-on-year to HK$41.682 billion.
The internet business also demonstrated robust growth, recording revenue of HK$1.693 billion, up 16.1% year-on-year. Gross margins in this segment improved to 61.1%, driven largely by international internet revenue which jumped 74.6% and now accounts for over half of total internet revenue.
According to a note from CLSA, the company's large-format display business achieved growth of 12.5% domestically and 29.6% overseas, benefiting from a higher mix of mini-LED products and stronger demand for premium offerings. The brokerage also highlighted that Sony's premium product lineup and TCL Electronics' extensive distribution network would support further high-end positioning and accelerate overseas expansion in the coming quarters.
