Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, announced Monday it made its first purchase of the cryptocurrency buy since late June, purchasing $369.7 million worth of Bitcoin last week.
Strategy stock rose 1% to $128.46 in premarket trading on Monday after a 7% drop Friday.
Bitcoin prices on Monday have fallen 1.2% over the past 24 hours and were trading around $77,898, according to CoinDesk. But that's still up from $77,500 at the end of last week.
Strategy purchased 4,603 Bitcoin last week for $369.7 million. The average purchase price was $80,318 each, according to the company's regulatory filing. It was the first time the company, formerly known as MicroStrategy, purchased Bitcoin since June.
The purchase was funded by the sale of $602.8 worth of common stock, according to Strategy. The transactions bring Strategy's total holdings to 845,050 Bitcoin acquired for roughly $75,412 a piece.
Bitcoin prices have gained 24% in August and were on pace for their best month since November 2024, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The cryptocurrency, however, remains down 11% this year and 38% below its record high of $126,272.76 from Oct. 6, 2025.
