Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) submitted two patent applications to the US Patent and Trademark Office for a technology innovation to use chemical-free processes to remove iron from brines, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company designed and assembled a small unit to process 5 to 10 gallons per minute of raw brine, with more than 102 assays confirming iron reduction to less than 1 part per million.

It is now assembling a larger unit at the Lithium Innovation Center in the US that uses the same technology and is capable of processing 200 to 250 gallons per minute of raw brine. The system is expected to be completed by the end of the year, per the filing.
