Petco Health & Wellness (WOOF) continues to make progress, with the second consecutive quarter of comparable sales growth in fiscal Q2, RBC Capital Markets said in a Wednesday note.

The company reported fiscal Q2 diluted earnings of $0.13 per diluted share, up from $0.05 a year earlier, while revenue was relatively flat at $1.49 billion. The period's 0.6% comparable sales growth reflects improvement in transactions, while total customer count also increased, the brokerage said.

Petco's adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization excluding tariffs also topped expectations, leaving room for tariff refund reinvestments to offset Q2 fuel and tariff costs, RBC noted.

The company is also seeing early proof points on the third phase of its growth initiatives, which include new store formats, the Autoship in-store launch and Hill's Science Diet fresh food partnership, the investment firm added.

RBC has an outperform rating on Petco Health & Wellness, with a $4 price target.
