Amazon (AMZN) self-driving unit Zoox expanded its vehicle testing operations to Houston and San Diego, Zoox said Tuesday.
The company plans to open new facilities and hire staff in both cities, and the expansion increases the testing regions to 12 markets within the US, the company said.
Initial operations will use modified vehicles to manually map streets before deploying driverless robotaxis, Zoox said.
