Amazon, Microsoft Collaborate on AWS-Azure Cloud Connectivity

Amazon (AMZN) is teaming up with Microsoft (MSFT) on a multicloud networking offering that will allow customers to connect Amazon Web Services and Azure, Microsoft said Monday in a blog post.

The AWS Interconnect multicloud and Azure Multicloud Interconnect will enable users to establish a private, high-performance connection between the two clouds via a streamlined, cloud-native experience.

Azure Multicloud Interconnect is aimed at supporting AI training and inference workloads by providing a high-capacity private connection between the clouds, the tech giant added.

Shares of Amazon and Microsoft were down nearly 3% and 1%, respectively, in afternoon trading.
