President Donald Trump on September 6 posted on social media platform X that he gave the late Congressman John Dingell a "Royal Sendoff" at the maximum level upon his death. Trump stated that Dingell's widow, Representative Debbie Dingell, called him and thanked him profusely while crying uncontrollably, but has since spoken only negatively about him.

In his post, Trump wrote: "Upon his death, I gave Congressman John Dingell, the Royal Sendoff, MAXED OUT! His wife, Debbie Dingbat, called me and thanked me profusely, while crying uncontrollably. She couldn’t believe I would do such a nice thing!" The president added that every time he sees this "Third Rate Loser" criticizing him, he is amazed because he considers himself a loyal person who does not do such things. He dismissed the criticism as "Politics" but said "it shouldn’t be that way!"

As of now, Representative Debbie Dingell has not publicly responded to Trump's remarks.
